LIVE THE HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE!
In Nîmes, opposite the two-millennia-old arena, the Musée de la Romanité presents 25 centuries of history with 5000 exceptional archaeological pieces in 65 multimedia displays for a totally immersive experience (interactive maps, large-scale audiovisual technology, etc.). See life in a Gallic house, plus Roman mosaics with colourful, recreated mural decorations and objects from everyday life. You can admire the Arena behind the ramparts, exactly as if you were there 2000 years ago, and follow the influence of Roman culture down the centuries.

Every day except Tuesday from November to March : 10am to 6pm
Closed on 25 December and 1 January

Mémoire vive. Oliver Laric

Le Musée de la Romanité explore cette année le lien entre Antiquité et art contemporain à l’occasion des 30 ans de Carré d’art, Musée d’art contemporain de Nîmes, en présentant le travail d’Oliver Laric.

Certaines œuvres des collections, souvent fragmentaires, sont « re-sculptées » grâce aux technologies digitales, afin d’en proposer une réinterprétation, à la fois respectueuse du modèle et résolument contemporaine.
Au croisement de l’art numérique et de l’archéologie, cette exposition rappelle la fascination qu’exerce l’Antiquité gréco-romaine sur les artistes d’aujourd’hui et consacre l’idée d’un patrimoine antique universel et accessible à tous.
